New Orleans, Ya'll!
We went on a small adventure recently and we want to see if you can guess from this cityscape where we ventured through on our last trip. We'll give you a hint! Not only were we jazzed about the bars, but the crawdads and beignets too! ....New Orleans, Ya'll!
A pink dream and champagne oasis, Brennans is a land mark to New Orleans. With a brunch menu that aims to please and gives one of the best takes on Creole cuisines in the finest and most unique interiors. Check out the array of bubbly cocktails at the lobby bar and bask in NOLA warm weather on the deck strung with patio lights and lush gardens.
Penthouse turned rooftop bar, Hot Tin Bar is located atop the exquisite The Pontchartrain in the heart of downtown New Orleans. With an outstanding view of the Mississippi River, the patio serves as a great conversation area to enjoy a drink or two. Through the accordion glass doors, you're greeted by a warm and eclectic atmosphere. We would have loved to share more of the interior with you, but boy, this place fills up quick and stays full into the wee hours of the evening. If you would rather enjoy a more low-key experience, just inside the lobby downstairs you'll find grand decor and a small window in which you can order from another smaller, cozier bar that would be fit for a more casual evening. Upstairs or down, the cocktails were classic and enjoyable, and the bartenders wowed us with their attention to detail. We definitely wanted to throw this place in our carry-on.
Tucked away in plain sight inside the Hotel Monteleone, is the Carousel Bar. This tourist trap is worth any sort of wait you must withstand to find a seat on this must-see, must-drink revolving experience. Now, this was a first for us, and although the drinks were tasty to say the least, the unique decor and delightful "ride" is what you're here for. Be careful though! If you find yourself on the fifth cocktail or so, you might not stumble off until morning!
Whilst on a mission to find something a little out of the norm in New Orleans, we stumbled across this classic gem, Tiki Tolteca . With not a detail missed in this cozy atmosphere, we made our way to the bar and began to examine the cocktail menu. With kooky glasses, and colorful, fruity concoctions, these may look like your average tiki themed treats, but believe me when I say, nothing is average about this experience.

An “iced buttered rum”: honey-butter-spice mix blended with passion fruit, lime and Jamaica rum! We found ourselves a gem!
(Right) As Frank would say..."Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the bible says love your enemy." The Navy Grog, Frank Sinatra’s favorite Tiki drink. A bracing blend of Jamaican and Demerara rums, perfumed with allspice and laced with lime and grapefruit.
